The Sidama region represents the historical heartland of coffee cultivation, nestled in Ethiopia’s high-altitude highlands. This landscape, believed to be the birthplace of coffee, offers exceptional growing conditions with rich volcanic soils and consistent climate that contribute to the extraordinary complexity and brightness of the beans.

Established in 2022, the Bochesa Washing Station works closely with 823 local farmers, supporting agricultural innovation and community development. By providing seedlings and financial support, they empower farmers to cultivate high-quality coffee while maintaining sustainable agricultural practices.

The washed processing method begins with careful cherry selection, followed by pulping to separate fruit from beans. After 12-16 hours of controlled fermentation, beans undergo a second washing and are meticulously dried on raised beds for 10-14 days, ensuring even moisture removal and preserving the coffee’s delicate flavor profile.
