Bette Buna works closely with neighbouring smallholder outgrowers, both in Sidama and even more so in Guji (where the farm sizes are a little larger) – as seen in our Megadu community lot currently on house filter. Two of these farmers, Gash Syoum and Gash Sentayehu, watched how Bette Buna processed their cherries using anoxic methods, and expressed interest in learning the technique themselves. Bette Buna provided training and guidance, teaching them to improve the anoxic processing on their own farms.
This lot was grown and processed on Mr Sentayehu’s farm, and milled & exported by Bette Buna.
